Wellington is the home of New Zealand's most adrenaline pumping kitesurfing, where iconic native bush fills the backdrop as kitesurfers to enjoy the world class conditions. With winds from the north and south, each day provides a unique challenge as the southern ocean swell provide something special.
Waterbourne makes the most of the conditions where the event organisers will choose the best discipline for the conditions. Our focus is to complete the Waterbourne Wings (Big Air) and TT:R racing, and will complete foil racing if conditions allow.
Waterbourne Ocean Clash
The iconic 'Ocean Clash' provides kitesurfers with the opportunity to take on their wind and wave loving counterparts, as they fight to win the 11km long distance race. Kitesurfers of all disciplines are welcome and have the opportunity to take on their friends, where the first to cross the finish line is crowned champion.
Kitesurfers will take on fellow windsurfers and paddle boarders where each discipline has a handicap outlined in the Notice of Race'. With winds ranging from 10-50knots, the event committee will decide what day is best suited for the race.
Waterbourne Wings - Big Air
